The votes are in for the City of West Allis’ first-ever Name the Snowplow contest — and the winning names might surprise you.
The contest was announced by the city in December, inviting residents 18 years or older to submit pun-filled name ideas for three of West Allis’ snowplows. City officials reviewed more than 300 submissions, then posted 30 finalists for public voting from Jan. 12-19.

According to the city, more than 3,400 votes were cast.
The nominators of the winning snowplow names will receive prizes. First place will get to ride in the 2026 Christmas parade in their named truck, while also receiving a photo with the mayor and truck, and a city swag bag. Second- and third-place winners will receive a photo with the mayor with their named truck and a city swag bag.
Photos of the winning snowplows will soon be posted on the City of West Allis website and social media channels.
