The Los Angeles Rams have plenty of talented pass rushers, and while Jared Verse and Byron Young may get a lot of the national attention on the edge, Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske are tough to block as well.
Turner added another 14 quarterback hits and seven sacks to his tallies this year, bringing those career numbers up to 43 and 24 respectively. Fiske, in his second year, finished with 10 quarterback hits and three sacks, bringing him to 20 and 11.5.
Even with their talent, Turner and Fiske still have trouble taking down some of the league’s most elusive pass rushers. They revealed who their toughest to sack are in the latest edition of “Right on Q” on the Rams’ YouTube channel.
“I got snapped off by Kyler Murray last year,” Fiske said. “I ain’t going to lie. He broke me off bad. For me, it’s gotta be Kyler. He broke me off bad. Me and Jared Verse ran a clean game. I came off that edge so clean. He [shook me], and I ended up on the ground.
While Fiske’s answer isn’t too surprising considering Murray’s ability to move, Turner’s choice is an obvious one that most would probably choose.
“Mine, I mean, it’s cliche, Lamar Jackson,” Turner said. “The game in 2023, bro. I think about that last play where me and AD [Aaron Donald] run the cleanest game, and he drops back probably 10-15 yards, dots it up and wins the game or forces it into overtime. That joker is cold. He’s shifty.”
Fiske is probably hoping he’s played the last of Murray with the Arizona Cardinals, while Turner is glad that Jackson is in the other conference.
