The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game between Duke and Arizona State is more than the nation’s second-oldest bowl game.
El Paso’s biggest sporting event, typically on the last day of the year, is the culmination of a months-long run-in to the game, featuring youth camps, a parade, a college basketball tournament, and game-week fan events.
Here is a schedule.
Sun Bowl Kick-Off Par-Tee
Fans can purchase individual tickets ($200) or reserve a bay for five golfers ($1,000) and play with with three athletes from Duke university teams playing in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. Kick-Off Par-Tee guests will enjoy a dinner and dessert bar with complimentary soft drinks and a cash bar.
Sun Bowl Cheer Camp
Youth groups from throughout El Paso go through drills with instructors and cheerleaders from Duke and Arizona State.
27th Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta presented by El Paso Live
The official day-before, free, open-to-the-public event is a pep rally featuring a battle of the bands, food, drinks, live music and interactive booths.
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Pregame Fan Party presented by Visit El Paso
The pregame tailgate party, which is free and open to the public, features a live DJ, games, giveaways, food and beverage vendors.
92nd Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Game
The nation’s second-oldest bowl game, which this year pits Arizona State and Duke, kicks off at noon and will be televised on CBS.
