Let’s take a look back at the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 16 performance against the San Francisco 49ers with Pro Football Focus’ highest and lowest graded players from this game.
Below is a look at PFF’s grading system for some context. While this metric is very helpful when it comes to quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system isn’t the be-all and end-all either. It is one metric out of many that are out there.
Now, here are the Colts’ five highest graded players on offense and defense from Week 16, along with which three players overall received the lowest grades.
Colts five highest-graded players on offense vs. 49ers
Pierce led the Colts in receiving, hauling in all four receptions for 86 yards with two touchdowns. Downs was the most targeted player on the team, with nine passes coming his way. He caught five of those targets for 65 yards, averaging 13.0 yards per reception.
Mo Alie-Cox had two catches on two targets for eight yards and received an average run-blocking grade.
It was tough sledding on the ground for Taylor, who averaged 2.9 yards per rush on 16 carries, but he did find the end zone. He also had three receptions for 33 yards.
Travis allowed three pressures and no sacks over 40 pass-blocking snaps. He received a run-blocking grade of 73.2 as well.
Colts’ five highest-graded players on defense
Latu led the Colts in pressures with four and also generated a sack and a forced fumble. Buckner, Stewart, and Gallimore combined for six pressures and nine solo tackles along the interior. Moore allowed three receptions on three targets for 24 yards.
Overall, this was a night to forget about for the Colts’ defense.
