Warriors' Draymond Green addresses consistency concerns

It’s been a bumpy start to the season for the Golden State Warriors. They had a brutal schedule to begin the season and have since been dealing with injuries. As such, Steve Kerr’s roster holds a 14-15 record over the opening two months of the season.

During a recent episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” Golden State’s championship-winning forward detailed the reasons why the team has struggled to string consistent performances together.

“Someone asked me the other night, ‘they were like, yo, you guys need to build some consistency, this, that, and the other.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ For sure,” Green said. “But we haven’t consistently been good. You build consistency with something that’s working. If it’s not working, you don’t keep doing the same thing. You try to find what’s working, what’s going to work. And until then, you’re tweaking things. And so I see people like, ‘Oh man, Steve needs to build consistency.’ For sure. Of course. Absolutely. Everyone wants consistency. You want to be consistently getting better. And if you’re not. You’re making changes to try to make that happen.”

Golden State came into the season with hopes of building winning habits and potentially proving itself as a championship contender. So far, that hasn’t been the case, and the current roster may need tweaking before it’s seen as a serious threat in the Western Conference.

Nevertheless, Kerr does have some elite talent at his disposal. The key will be finding a settled rotation that executes on both sides of the floor. So far, that has proven to be a difficult task. But, with three quarters of the season left to play, it’s far too early to be counting the Warriors out of the championship race.
