Will Illinois beat Tennessee in the Music City Bowl? Early predictions

The Illinois Fighting Illini face the Tennessee Volunteers in Music City Bowl, one of multiple college football bowl games. Kickoff from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Dec. 30 on ESPN.

Coach Bret Bielema and Illinois (8-4) is in a bowl game for the third time in four seasons and can win nine game in back-to-back seasons for the first time. The Illini finished finished among teams receiving votes in the USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll and The Associated Press poll.

Tennessee (8-4) finished tied with Missouri for eighth in the SEC logjam, among at least 10 teams headed to the CFP or a bowl game. Coach Josh Huepel and the Vols are ranked No. 23 in the coaches poll, but is not included in either The AP and CFP ranks.
