A Papa John’s employee is accused of shooting and killing a 23-year-old man inside the West Price Hill restaurant Tuesday night.
Cincinnati police arrested 21-year-old Murphy Tilk, of North Bend, on a murder charge Dec. 10, according to an arrest report. Tilk was taken into custody at the department’s Linn Street office around 2 a.m.

Officers were sent to the 4500 block of West Eighth Street about 11 p.m. Dec. 9. After arriving, they found Nawaf Althawadi, 23, with a gunshot wound. Cincinnati firefighters started life-saving measures but declared Althawadi dead on the scene, police said.
The shooting occurred inside the Papa Johns on West Eighth Street, according to Enquirer media partner Fox 19. Police have not said what led up to the shooting.
During Tilk’s arraignment in Hamilton County on Dec. 10, Municipal Judge Samantha Silverstein agreed with prosecutors to hold Tilk without bond.
Tilk is expected next in court for a bond hearing on Dec. 13.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the department’s homicide unit at 513-352-3542.
