Hilliard police investigating potential murder-suicide at townhomes complex

A call asking for a wellness check led to the discovery of two bodies at a Hilliard townhome, which the Division of Police there is calling a potential murder-suicide based on a preliminary investigation.

Hilliard police officers responded at around 2 p.m. Nov. 17 to the Hilliard Square Townhomes complex in the 4800 block of Leap Court off Cemetery Road, according to Andrea Litchfield, a spokesperson for the city of Hilliard, including the police division.

On arrival, officers found a man and woman who were both deceased, said Litchfield. The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The preliminary investigation points to a murder-suicide, Litchfield said. She could not say how the man and woman were killed, or the relationship between the two.

There is no active threat to the community, Litchfield said.
