Rams broke an attendance record at SoFi Stadium in win vs. Seahawks

Sunday wasn’t just another game between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. It carried more weight with both teams tied atop the NFC West at 7-2, the best record in football.

Players and coaches knew how much this game meant. Just look at Sean McVay’s reaction in the locker room after the Rams’ 21-19 win at home. Fans were well aware of the playoff implications, too.

According to team president Kevin Demoff, the Rams set a regular-season attendance record at SoFi Stadium with more than 75,000 fans for the first time. The stadium has only had fans in attendance since 2021 but that’s still an impressive feat for the team.

The Rams have averaged 72,726 fans per home game this season, according to ESPN, up from 71,598 in 2021, the first year fans were able to attend games at SoFi. Last season was their highest average attendance at 73,194 fans per home game, sixth in the NFL.

Demoff hopes to set another attendance record next week when the Rams host the 6-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football, yet another marquee matchup for McVay’s red-hot squad. A win would be the Rams’ sixth straight, keeping them at least one game ahead of the Seahawks in the NFC West.
