The Rochelle Hubs were knocked out of the IHSA football playoffs on a late onside-kick recovery and game-winning field goal from Geneseo in the first round on Oct. 31.
However, ever since then, good news has continued to flow out of Rochelle on the recovery of the Hubs’ top running back, Dylan Manning, who had two brain surgeries following a head injury in an Oct. 3 road game at Morris.
Manning’s friends and family have continued to give updates through social media and through the team, and things have started to improve the past two weeks.
Manning was moved out of ICU on Nov. 2, after nearly a month, and started to walk with assistance and eat without a feeding tube shortly after. His recovery has been speeding up ever since.
Back on Nov. 6, his friends and family said on social media: “More great news! #10 Dylan Manning is continuing to make great strides. He’s walking, talking, and eating good. The exciting next step is that Dyl will be moving to a rehab facility later today!”
Manning was moved from Loyola University Medical Center on Nov. 7 to a rehab facility, and he has been reportedly adjusting well.
On Sunday, Nov. 9, his family reported: “Dyl is continuing to work hard. The rehab team is working to establish a plan to help him move forward… Please continue to pray for Dyl, the entire Manning family and his medical team… We love you Dyl.”
