MILLADORE − One person is in serious condition and another was treated and released at a local hospital after their truck was hit by a train Nov. 3 in Wood County.
At 2:14 p.m. Nov. 3, a caller reported a truck versus train crash on Mayflower Road, near the intersection of Wood County P in Milladore, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The initial investigation found the truck was traveling north on Mayflower Road and parked for a railroad crossing prior to County P. The truck was parked too close to the railroad right of way, according to the news release. While in the parked position, a train passed through the area and crashed into the truck.
The truck’s driver, 70, and passenger, 68, both of Stratford, sustained significant injuries, according to the news release. The two were transported to Marshfield Medical Center where the driver was treated and released and the passenger was listed in serious condition as of the morning of Nov. 4, according to a hospital spokesperson.
