What to know about voting times, places and candidates for 2025 Broome County elections

In November, Broome County voters will head to the polls to decide key local election races.

Some of the top local offices up for election this year include Broome County Clerk, Binghamton and Johnson City Mayor and a special election to determine a District 1 representative for Binghamton City Council, along with a number of other local positions.

Here’s what Broome County residents need to know about Election Day, Early Voting and polling places.

When is Election Day in 2025?

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. that day.

Where can I vote in person?

More than 100 polling sites are available in Broome County, with a full list of polling locations available at broomevotes.com/pollingplaces. To find the correct polling place for your address, readers should visit vic.ntsdata.com/home/Broome.

When does early voting end in 2025?

In 2025, early voting began Oct. 25 and ends on Nov. 2.

Who is on the ballot?

Various government offices throughout Broome County will be on the ballot in 2025, with one county-wide election for Broome County Clerk appearing on all Broome County voters’ ballots. Some major races in 2025 include Binghamton Mayor, Johnson City Mayor and Vestal Town Board.

All Broome County voters will also have the opportunity to vote on a New York State Ballot Proposition regarding an Olympic Sports Complex in Essex County.

The amendment allows skiing and related trail facilities on state forest preserve land in Essex County. The site is 1,039 acres and requires the state to add 2,500 acres of new forest land in Adirondack Park.

A “YES” vote authorizes new ski trails and related facilities in the Adirondack forest preserve.

A “NO” vote does not authorize this use.
