The “6-7” trend has taken quite a hold in the social media-verse, and Acme has decided to dive headfirst into the trend with a sale that lasts two days only, the grocery chain announced Oct. 28.
Acme will drop prices on certain items to prices that end in .67 cents through Oct. 29.
“From Maxwell House Big Can Coffee to Little Hugs to Heinz Ketchup, every item in the 6-7 Flash Sale is priced to meme perfection,” Acme said in a news release. “That’s right: Heinz Tomato Ketchup (38 oz) is $3.67, Maxwell House Coffee Big Max Cans are 13.67, Little Hug Fruit Barrels and Turkey Hill Ice Cream are $3.67… you get the idea.”
Those customers who capture their best “6-7” video at Acme are invited to post their video to Facebook or Instagram by 6 or 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 for a chance to win a $67 Acme gift card.
What does ‘6-7’ mean?
According to the Chicago Parent, the phrase “6-7” is just said for fun, like an inside joke.
It begins with someone saying “six” and another person saying “seven” just to get a laugh and share an inside joke that adults aren’t aware of.
How did ‘6-7’ phrase begin?
Some TikTokers have associated the phrase with the 2024 rap song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla and a meme involving NBA player LaMelo Ball.
The trend began with the song being used during clips of Ball, who stands 6 feet, 7 inches tall. As the trend grew popular, users paired the song with videos of athletes and celebrities.
