The regular season has ended for Muskingum Valley high school football squads, as the first week of the playoffs have officially been ushered in.
Sheridan’s win at unbeaten New Lexington and Morgan’s win at Philo and Rosecrans’ win at Berne Union, which clinched playoff spots for each team, were the official Week 10 highlights.
Here is a look at this week’s nominations for Times Recorder High School Football Athlete of the Week:
Tanner Bankes, Morgan — 28 carries for 95 yards, 3 TDs vs. Philo
Braxton Brownrigg, West M — 2 INTs, one returned for TD vs. Meadowbrook
Keaton Bryan, Maysville — 4 catches for 65 yards, 2 TDs vs. Crooksville
Logan Israel, Ridgewood — Team-high 11 tackles (8 solo) vs. Garaway
Ryan Lamonica, Tri-Valley — 2 INT returns for touchdowns vs. John Glenn
Jack Lincicome, Philo — 16 carries for 155 yards vs. Morgan
Kash Murphy, Coshocton — 3 INTs, one returned for TD vs. River View
Hayden Perdue, Rosecrans — 392 yards passing, 4 TDs vs. Berne Union
Logan Russell, Sheridan — 23 carries for 92 yards, kickoff return for TD vs. New Lex
Paul Stenson, New Lex — 23 carries for 135 yards rushing vs. Sheridan
