A new report suggests Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian might be angling for an NFL job. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, representatives for Sarkisian have made it known to NFL decision-makers that the coach would be open to potential head coaching openings, including the Tennessee Titans.
“I’m told that representatives for Texas coach Steve Sarkisian have let NFL decision makers know that he would be interested in potential head coaching openings, including the Titans,” Dianna Russini reported on X.
Sarkisian has plenty of NFL experience. The former BYU quarterback served as quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2004. He spent two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons from 2017–2018. But he has never been a head coach in the NFL.
Sark’s offensive scheme has long thought to be a good fit in the NFL. He is also considered one of the best QB developers in football. Something else highly sought after in the pros.
If Sark does end up with the Titans, he would get to work with current rookie QB Cam Ward, the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. While Tennessee is the only current NFL opening, there is plenty of speculation about openings with the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Giants.
