A dozen marching bands from high schools in the South Bend region advanced from the Oct. 18 Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Open Class regional competitions.
Bands are divided by school enrollment size, with the biggest schools in Class A and the smallest in Class D, with those in between in Classes B and C. There are 20 schools each competing in the two larger classes, with 21 in Class C and 22 in Class D.
The South Bend region advanced two schools each in Class A and Class C, and four schools each in Class B and Class D.

Where will ISSMA marching band semi-state take place?
The ISSMA Marching Band semi-state competition will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, according to the schedule for the day. Some local bands will compete at Pike High School and others at Ben Davis High School; both are in Indianapolis.
When are ISSMA marching band finals?
The 2025 ISSMA state marching band finals will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
When is the ISSMA marching band Scholastic Finals?
The ISSMA Scholastic Finals will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Franklin Central High School, according to the schedule for the day.
