The images, most of them blurry, show a young man wearing a distinct necklace and with a with a sea animal backpack.

One grainy image shows a handgun in the man’s right hand.

He’s wearing a black-and-white necklace and has a plush stuffed-animal-like backpack that’s either a shark or dolphin, police said.

The shootings, which involved two gunmen, happened outside Five Guys near the corner of Kirkwood Avenue and Dunn Street in the heart of downtown Bloomington and near Indiana University’s Sample Gates.

Several thousand people were on Kirkwood for Little 500 parties. Police were present to monitor the crowds and were near the scene of the shooting when gunfire broke out at 12:25 a.m.

One woman was shot in the torso and several others had minor injuries from bullet fragments. Four were hurt in falls while fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information about the identity of the person in the photos or the shooting can contact BPD Detective Chris Scott at 812-339-4477 or scottc@bloomington.in.gov.
