Congratulations to Clara Walton of Adams High School! She was voted by Tribune readers as the South Bend Tribune Student of the Week for Oct. 13.

Clara Walton, Adams High School: Clara is an incredibly knowledgeable and well-rounded student whose intellectual curiosity and creativity make her stand out every day. Her love of the arts shines through in everything she does, from singing beautifully to delivering amazing performances through Shakespeare’s work. Clara’s exceptional knowledge has led our Quiz Bowl team to many incredible victories. As an integral member of our varsity team, which has competed successfully at both the state and national levels, she has consistently contributed to some of our most impressive wins. In addition to her academic and artistic talents, Clara is also a gifted language learner who has demonstrated remarkable progress in IB Spanish Higher Level. As a dedicated IB Diploma candidate, she has balanced a demanding academic schedule with grace, hard work and enthusiasm for learning. Not only does Clara manage an extremely rigorous academic schedule and a demanding practice and competition Quiz Bowl schedule, she is also an officer for the National Honor Society, a member of the Spanish Honor Society and a member of local theater productions. She is an outstanding actress, and we can’t wait to see her incredible performance in the upcoming production of “The Crucible” at South Bend Civic Theatre.

Anastasia Rosas, LaVille Jr/Sr High School: Anastasia works very hard in the classroom and is motivated to achieve all her goals this year. She has a positive attitude and wants to excel.
