The Dallas Cowboys injury report is lengthy, but always less daunting to consider coming off a good win.
CeeDee Lamb seems unlikely, but not completely ruled out, while the battered offensive line could be getting a little healthier.
Trey Hendrickson is still a Bengal despite trade rumors linking him to Dallas, and former Houston safety CJ Gardner-Johnson is definitely not coming to Dallas in the immediate future.
Here’s a rundown of what’s going on with the Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys boycott
This feels like it should have exclamation points behind it. At any rate, there is a petition at Moveon.org that exclaims: “We, the true fans of The Dallas Cowboys, do hereby pledge to boycott spending ANY money on The Dallas Cowboys until Jerry Jones steps down and hires a real football guy (someone such as Bill Parcels) to be the General Manager of the club who will have the FINAL say on all personnel decisions, both players and coaches. We will not attend games, buy merchandise of any kind, or attend any club events until this change is made.”
There is also a Facebook page, and enough people googling “Dallas Cowboys boycott” to get the phrase trending.
Per Google AI: “A boycott of the Dallas Cowboys is a movement by some fans to express extreme dissatisfaction with the team’s ownership and management, primarily owner Jerry Jones, by refusing to spend money on the team. These fan-led boycotts involve pledges to stop purchasing tickets, merchandise, and other products associated with the team.”
But it all seems to be going nowhere.
Dallas Cowboys injury report
Inquiries directed to the Dallas Cowboys injury report end up with descriptions of CVS receipts. There are 18 players, out of a 53-man roster, on it, though three included the tag “full practice” so that’s good.
At any rate, KaVonte Turpin said he’ll miss the Carolina game and return the next week for Washington. As for CeeDee Lamb and the trio of injured offensive linemen Tyler Booker, Tyler Smith and Tyler Guyton, they are not officially out yet for Carolina but it too sounds more like Lamb is looking at a Washington return, which fits in the middle of the “two to four weeks” projected when he suffered a high ankle sprain two and a half week ago.
That comes from Cowboys COO Stephen Jones (son of Jerry) on a Dallas radio station. The Atlantic’s Jon Machota said the linemen are more likely to be back than Lamb this Sunday.
Dallas Cowboys rumors: C.J. Gardner-Johnson is not coming
When Gardner-Johnson was surprisingly released by Houston last week, rumors suggested that he could end up in Dallas, which at the time had the NFL’s 31st-ranked defense (out of 32).
Instead, he just signed with the No. 32 defense, the Baltimore Ravens, in a practice squad capacity. That still leaves him as a free agent Dallas could pick up, but this is an indication there is no interest from the Cowboys.
How much are the Dallas Cowboys worth?
Per a Forbes story from two months ago, the Dallas Cowboys are worth $13 billion, so start saving those pennies if you’re part of the Dallas Cowboys boycott crowd.
Dallas Cowboys rumors: Trey Hendrickson
No new news on the Trey Hendrickson front. The star edge rusher from Cincinnati is still in the last year of his contract, still part of the rumor mill and still playing for the Bengals.
Newsweek just floated the idea of a trade, suggesting the Cowboys could get him (and his expiring contract) for a conditional second-round pick.
Alas, that’s the second news report regarding Hendrickson. The first is a TV station in Arkansas claiming, “Trey Hendrickson NOT Available,” which is the way of rumors.
George Pickens
The Dallas Cowboys’ last big trade is paying off. The receiver Pickens has been an outstanding No. 1 in place of Lamb. He only had two catches against the Jets, but they went for 57 yards and a touchdown. This came a game after going off for 134 yards against the Packers.
Dallas got him essentially for a third-round pick next year and change, which at this point seems well worth it.
