In last Thursday’s Indiana Fever exit interview session, Caitlin Clark outlined her plans for the offseason, including basketball-related activities, as she recovers from the nagging right groin injury that ended her 2025 season.
When asked about the activities she has planned for the offseason, Clark mentioned she will likely take a brief break and find ways to get 5-on-5 action to regain confidence in her playmaking and shooting abilities, but emphasized the importance of getting her body healthy.

“I’ll probably take a little bit of a break here just for maybe a week. I don’t really want to lose kind of the stuff I’ve worked on and just trying to get my body back to full health. There’s some USA Basketball stuff I need to get ready for. And, you know, I need to be able to find some runs and some ways to play five-on-five just so I can kind of get that feel back,” Clark said.
“But more than anything, I think my main focus is really just getting my body healthy. Once we get back to five-on-five, like just being able to test my body and make sure I know it’s in a good spot where it’s going to be able to hold up with everything that, you know, we think we’ve corrected or we think we’ve worked on to be able to know I’m in a really good spot there. … So that’s probably going to be my main focus is, you know, just feeling 100% again and then obviously, you know, having that confidence in my body too.”
While many are interested in whether the former Hawkeye is considering joining the Unrivaled women’s “3-on-3” league that Indiana teammates Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, and Aliyah Boston have all committed to, Clark said she has not made any concrete plans. She mentioned she plans to work with Team USA Basketball, which she believes will help her prepare for the next season and the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in September.
“Yeah, I think you always explore every opportunity and I haven’t made any decisions and I don’t know what that’s necessarily going to look like for me, Clark stated.
“Like I said, there’s some USA Basketball stuff that is probably my top priority right now that I need to prepare for, and I think that will help me prepare for next season too. But obviously, then you have to prepare for USA basketball in some manner, so there’s just a lot of different things you got to figure out and balance. And, you know, I’ll work through a lot of that too.”
With Clark playing only 13 regular-season games due to five injuries throughout the 2025 campaign, the emphasis on achieving 100% health, building endurance and discovering more effective ways to play the game will be critical for Clark and a topic of interest over the next seven months.
