Rams defenders show public support for Kyren Williams after costly fumble

After the Rams’ 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers, running back Kyren Williams faced some heat for his late goal-line fumble. The mistake cost Los Angeles a chance to take the lead with about a minute to go, but two teammates quickly came to his defense, emphasizing unity over blame.

Defensive tackle Poona Ford was the most vocal, posting the following message on social media: “We gone stick beside 23 no matter what.”

His words highlighted the bond that this team holds and that one miscue does not outweigh Williams’ value on offense.

Williams had been extremely productive throughout the night with two touchdowns and 131 yards from scrimmage, and teammates stressed that his contributions remain vital to their success.

Edge rusher Byron Young also showed support by sharing Ford’s post, having his teammate’s back.

The combination of Ford and Young’s public backing reflects a broader message: The Rams are choosing to rally together, as it is the only way they will reach their end goal. In a season that will surely bring more adversity, moments like these show how a team’s response to setbacks can be just as important as the setbacks themselves.
