Vote now: Fall sports Menke GMC Athlete of the Week for week of Sept. 22-29

Which Central Wisconsin high school athlete stole the show with the most impressive performance last week? You tell us. 

The Menke GMC Athlete of the Week poll for Sept. 22-29 is now live until Thursday, Oct. 2 at noon.

Cast your vote for the best area performance with entrants from boys and girls cross country, football and volleyball. 

Dawson Luther, Pittsville: Luther broke Pittsville’s single-game rushing record previously set in 1979 by Chris Solatycki with 389 rushing yards and five touchdowns. 

Ben Hartwig, Athens cross country: Hartwig finished in first place in the men’s 5,000 meter race at 18:02 at the Spencer Invitational. 

Ben Beck, Iola-Scandinavia cross country: Beck notched a first place finish in the men’s 5,000 meters race at the Marshfield Night Meet on Sept. 26.

Delia Trader, Columbus Catholic: Trader reached 1,000 career digs with Columbus Catholic on Sept. 25.

Lindsay Kahn, Medford cross country:  Khan notched first place finish in the women’s 5,000 meters race at the Merrill Invite on Sept. 27 at 19:30. 

Rory Salvesen, Wittenberg-Birnamwood cross country: Salvesen won the women’s 5,000 meters race at the Menomonie Indian Invite with a time of 21:09.5. 

Shelby Borowski, Tomahawk: Borowski reached 1,000 career assists with the Hatchets on Sept. 25.

Piper Moyer, Adams-Friendship volleyball: Moyer dominated with 27 kills and 12 digs in a sweep over Nekoosa. 

Isaac Snyder, Amherst soccer: Snyder contributed a pair of goals in the Falcons 6-2 win over Pacelli. 

Lexi Rice, Newman Catholic: Rice reached 1,000 career assists with the Cardinals program on Sept. 24. 

Brady Berg, Stratford football: Berg went 8-for-10 for 156 passing yards and three touchdowns in Stratford’s 57-0 win over Colby. 

Irvin Davila, Abbotsford football: Davila recorded eight tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception in Abbotsford win over Pittsville.

Camille Sobolewski, Newman Catholic volleyball: Sobolewski dominated with 23 kills and 16 digs in Newman’s win over Auburndale. 

Paetyn Jirschele, Mosinee volleyball: Jirschele led the Indians with 29 assists and 11 digs in a sweep over Rhinelander on Sept. 23. 

Elizabeth Trzinski, Rosholt volleyball: Trzinski recorded 29 digs and 43 assists in Rosholt’s win over Tri-County.
