Jeremiyah Love having a career day already for Notre Dame football vs. Arkansas

Jeremiyah Love is having a special day for Notre Dame football against Arkansas.

After getting the “College GameDay” spotlight on him Saturday morning, Love decided to put on a show in the first half vs. the Razorbacks. The junior running back had 71 yards receiving, 55 yards rushing and four total touchdowns (two pass, two rush) as the Irish led, 42-13, at the break.

He became the first Notre Dame player in more than 30 years with multiple rush and receiving touchdowns in the same game. The four touchdowns are the most in a single game for Love already, who came into the season with Heisman Trophy buzz.

Love made a highlight reel play on his first touchdown reception, catching a short pass from CJ Carr, planting his feet and making a spin move on an Arkansas defender before trotting in from seven yards out to make it 14-3 at the time.

His second touchdown catch was a perfect play call by Irish offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, setting up Love with a convoy of offensive linemen to score on a 34-yard screen pass.

He struggled in the season opener against Miami, but has bounced back with two stellar efforts the last two games. He had a career-high 157 rushing yards in a 56-30 win against Purdue last week.

As a whole, Notre Dame racked up 420 yards of offense across six possessions in the first half, all touchdowns. Carr was 16-for-22 passing for 294 yards and four touchdowns. They averaged 10.4 yards/play in the first half alone.
