The Christmas movie filmed in Door County earlier this year now has a new title and debut date.
The movie previously christened “A Cherry Pie Christmas” will instead be called “A Wisconsin Christmas Pie” when it premieres on Oct. 9 on Great American Pure Flix.
It subsequently will air at 7 p.m. Central time Oct. 11 on Great American Family and GFAM+.
“A Wisconsin Christmas Pie” stars Katie LeClerc (“Switched at Birth”) and Ryan Carnes (“Desperate Housewives”) and tells the homespun story of a Chicago pastry chef who returns to her small-town roots in Door County during the holidays and must decide between her dream job and her family’s struggling orchard business. There’s a rekindled romance amongst all that butter and flour, too.
It was written and directed by John Stimpson, whose credits include “A Very Vermont Christmas” and “A Cape Cod Christmas.” Many of the scenes were filmed at the Hillside Waterfront Hotel in Ephraim, but other landmarks, including The White Gull Inn, Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market and Eagle Tower at Peninsula State Park, all in Fish Creek, can be spotted in the trailer.
GAF is available through major cable providers and on streaming services, including Frndly TV, Fubo TV, Philo, Hulu, DirecTV Stream and Sling TV. Launched in 2021, it focuses on family-friendly programming, including original holiday movies, rom-coms and series that celebrate faith, family and country.
Members of the cast and crew, along with locals involved in the production, will be in attendance when it makes its local premiere 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek.
Tickets were claimed quickly for that event, as well as for a subsequent 1 p.m. Dec. 14 screening that was added due to demand. Both are now sold out.
Tickets were free, but advance tickets were required for the reserved-seating event. It went on sale Sept. 25 for VIP members who are part of the Auditorium Society, then for the general public on Sept. 26.
