Enjoy a Witches Night Out in Petoskey

Gather your coven and head to downtown Petoskey from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 for Witches Night Out.

This spooky and fun evening of shopping, dining and a late night movie is hosted by Grandpa Shorters.

A harvest festival bonanza

If you’re looking to celebrate the harvest season and all things fun for fall, there are several harvest festivals happening this weekend.

East Jordan will be celebrating its 10th annual Fall Festival on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s activities largely center around East Jordan High School’s Homecoming parade and game, and the schedule on Saturday at Tourist Park includes a craft show, live music, a cornhole tournament, trick-or-treating and more.

The Boyne City Harvest Festival is set to take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27. This event marks the final outdoor farmers market of the season, and there will also be plenty of games and decorations to enjoy.

If you’re up in the U.P. this weekend, head over to Tahquamenon Falls State Park for their Harvest Festival, happening all day on Saturday, Sept. 27. There will be hayrides with Smokey the Bear, a chili cook-off, pumpkin decorating, archery and more at the Lower Falls Campgrounds.

Join “Camp-o-Ween” in Sault Ste. Marie

Halloween is coming early to Sherman Park Campground in Sault Ste. Marie.

Camp-o-Ween will bring a full weekend of spooky fun for campers. The fun gets started on Friday, Sept. 26 with a Monster Dance from 6-8 p.m. and a movie to follow. On Saturday, there will be fun activities like an eyeball hunt, pumpkin painting and a costume contest. The evening ends with trick-or-treating around the campgrounds from 7-8:30 p.m.

You can find the full schedule of activities at saultstemarie.com/event/34579.

Tap into the Trails in Cheboygan

You can celebrate the outdoors and the local craft beer scene on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Cheboygan during Tap into the Trails.

The day’s activities cover a lot of ground, from a bicycle trail ride to a 5K Family Fun Run to Oktoberfest in Festival Square to bird watching and much more.

Events take place all around the area, including Cheboygan State Park and the Cheboygan Children’s Trail. For a full schedule of events and locations, visit cheboygan.com/tap-into-the-trails.

Celebrate your local downtown

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has declared Saturday, Sept. 27 as Downtown Day in Michigan.

According to the state proclamation, the day is intended to recognize downtowns as economic drivers and emphasize that downtown businesses rely on their communities for support. People are encouraged to “mark the occasion by celebrating their love of downtowns and visiting their favorite Michigan downtown.”

Your local downtown may be offering special activities or deals to celebrate, so be sure to check it out!
