It’s been a wacky Week 3 so far, with a ton of early games having crazy happenings to start things off. With the Dallas Cowboys enjoying a late afternoon kickoff in Chicago, they probably hoped to avoid a similar fate, but to no avail.
Soonafter the team forced a three-and-out on Chicago’s opening drive, running back Javonte Williams was stripped on a huge run to turn the ball over. Trevon Diggs slipped in coverage on Rome Odunze and the Bears had a quick lead. But it’s what happened on the ensuing possession that’s the biggest problem.
Running a play with CeeDee Lamb as the running back, the star WR had his leg trapped underneath and was unable to stand immediately. He got helped to the sideline and then walked off into the examination space without his shoe on.
Lamb has opened the season with two 100-yard receiving performances, giving him a streak of four straight games dating back to last season. Only one Cowboys receiver has ever had five or more; Michael Irvin.
The Cowboys have not ruled Lamb out yet, after extensive time being monitored but have deemed him questionable to return.
With the Cowboys driving at the quarter break, CeeDee Lamb returned to the field, but he was unable to deal with the pain and went off after one play.
