A popular event is returning to Ames’ Main Street district as organizers pair up small businesses with area musicians for the annual Music Walk.
The free, family-friendly celebration will feature live music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18.
The Downtown Ames event will include more than 30 businesses paired with solo musicians and bands from a diverse collection of genres.
The laid-back, come-and-go atmosphere is an enticing way to showcase local talent as well as small businesses in the Main Street district.
Visitors will find performers either inside partnering businesses or on the sidewalk.
Downtown streets will stay open for vehicle traffic with parking available along Main Street.
Restaurants and bars will be open downtown, and The Outside Scoop food truck will be located at the corner of Main Street and Kellogg Avenue.
