Despite a 33-27 loss, the Miami Dolphins’ offense finally got going in front of their home crowd and the ‘Cheetah’ once again showed why he is their most dangerous receiving target.
Tyreek Hill caught six of his seven targets for 109 yards in the Week 2 defeat. His longest reception Sunday went for 47 yards and put the Miami offense deep in New England territory.
Hill’s big play, which is even more impressive considering Hill had to adjust to an underthrown football, set up the first field goal of the season for Riley Patterson, which gave Miami a 17-15 lead.
It was Hill’s first 100-yard day of the 2025 season on a day that appeared to be a step in the right direction for the Miami passing attack. After an underwhelming 40-yard day against Indianapolis last week, Hill needed a strong showing against the Patriots to get back on track.
However, a trip to the end zone still eludes Hill after the Dolphins first two games. Since joining the Dolphins in 2022, this is the first time Hill has been held without a touchdown catch in his first two games. It is also the only 0-2 start for Miami during Hill’s tenure.
The Dolphins have a short week to prepare for a Buffalo Bills team who demolished the New York Jets, 30-10. If the Dolphins have any hope of taking down the reigning AFC East champions Thursday night, the offense will have to put up even more points to keep up with 2024 MVP Josh Allen. Hill’s involvement will be paramount as his big-play potential is an instant momentum changer at any time in any game.
