What channel is the Bills game on? How to watch Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets

ORCHARD PARK – There are two reasons why the No. 1 CBS broadcast team will be at MetLife Stadium Sunday afternoon when the Buffalo Bills face the AFC East rival New York Jets.

First and foremost, the big Week 2 doubleheader game at 4:25 p.m., the Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, is on FOX. And of the 1 p.m. games under CBS’ purview, Josh Allen and the Bills, coming off their incredible victory last Sunday night, are easily the most entertaining and fascinating team for Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson to be opining about this week.

Last year, they did three Bills regular-season games and two of them, Buffalo’s 30-21 victory over the Chiefs and their 48-42 shootout victory over the Lions, were among the most exciting games of the 2024 NFL season. They also watched the Bills score 40 points in a late-season blowout of the Jets.

And then Nantz, Romo and Wolfson were on the call for all three of Buffalo’s postseason games – the wins over the Broncos and Ravens and the AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs.

There are a couple other potentially interesting 1 p.m. games on CBS such as Jaguars at Bengals and Browns at Ravens, but the reigning MVP Allen and the Bills going against the new-look Jets of Aaron Glenn was a pretty obvious place for CBS to send its top team.

And you know Nantz enjoys every Bills game he gets to cover because he has a soft spot in his heart for the organization and its fan base. In October 2022 when Nantz’s mother died, Allen reached out personally to offer his condolences, and when Nantz came to Buffalo for his first broadcast after her passing, the Bills’ management team greeted him in the broadcast booth at Highmark Stadium to offer their condolences.

The following spring, during an episode of Bills Embedded on which Nantz was a guest, he said he would never forget their kindness, and he also relayed the story of how Bills fans donated money to the Nantz National Alzheimer Center in Houston, founded by Nantz and named in honor of his father, Jim Sr., who died in 2008.

“I mean, the only team in the NFL, and it wasn’t a handful of people,” Nantz said. “It was like well, well over 100 in Bills Mafia that reached out to my family. I’ll never forget that.”
