Man in critical condition after Frenchtown Township crash

One man was sent to the hospital in critical condition after a crash on northbound I-75 on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The crash was reported at 11:47 a.m. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Hajaj Alhawry, 38, of Dearborn, was driving a tractor-trailer in the middle lane. However, he slowed to a stop due to traffic congestion for an approaching construction zone.

After stopping, Alhawry’s trailer was hit from the right rear side by a black Ford Fusion driven by Jonathon Martin, 32, of Rockwood.

Martin was taken to Corewell Health Trenton Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Alhawry was uninjured.

Members of the Frenchtown Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division,and Monroe Community Ambulance assisted at the scene. Members of the Monroe County Sheriff’sOffice Victim Services Unit are also assisting.
