Welcome to Week 3 of the Florida high school football season in the Gainesville area!
All eyes locally will be on Alachua County once again, and especially Citizens Field. Buchholz and Eastside are meeting in the first installment of the city rivalry series. The Rams have a better record than the Bobcats in the matchup for the first time in two decades, but the Bobcats are motivated following a heartbreaking loss to Vero Beach last week.

East of Citizens, revenge will be on the mind of Hawthorne. The Hornets host Florida High, which became the first time to dethrone HHS in the regular season in four years last season in Tallahassee.
Elsewhere in the county, Newberry and P.K. Yonge search for their first wins, while Santa Fe looks to improve to 2-0. Outside the biggest county, Bradford faces another grueling test with a visit to South Sumter, and Columbia travels down to Hillsborough for a battle between two of the oldest schools in the state.
Keep it here Friday night for scores across the Gainesville-area, and be sure to follow Gainesville Sun Preps Reporter Noah Ram on Twitter (@noah_ram1) and Instagram (@ramreporter) for updates, videos, polls and more.
