Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr wears the same number — 13 — as his predecessor, Riley Leonard.
Unlike Leonard, Carr isn’t known for being a runner, but he just ran in a game-tying touchdown for the No. 5 Fighting Irish as they take on No. 10 Miami (FL) at Hard Rock Stadium tonight. Consider it his Leonard impersonation.
Carr ran the ball in from 7 yards out to cap off a 3-play, 75-yard drive that took 1:14, but the key play was the first one of the drive, when Miami lost sight of tight end Eli Raridon and Carr found him for a 65-yard gain.
That set up the Carr touchdown run two plays later.
