Nostalgia alert! Kings Island announces return of fan-favorite Phantom Theater

Cue the spooky music. King’s Island’s gone-but-never forgotten Phantom Theater will return to Kings Island in 2026.

The Mason amusement park will replace the current Boo Blasters ride with Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, set to open next spring, Tony Clark, regional manager of public relations, said in an Aug. 28 news release.

The final day for Boo Blasters will be Sept. 1. Then, it’s on to the next, albeit familiar, chapter. The building has been host to many storied rides in the past, including the Enchanted Voyage, Phantom Theater (volume one) and Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle, before it’s life as Boo Blasters. You can read all about the building’s history here.
