Is there one pizzeria in the Hoosier State whose flavor can’t be topped?
The Food Network says there is. The company published a list of the best pizza restaurants in each of the 50 states, handpicking their “top places to eat.”
Here’s what they said about Indiana.
Food Network picks best pizza spot in Indiana
The network announced that the best pizza slice in Indiana is served at Giorgio’s Pizza in Indianapolis, at 9 E. Market St., in downtown Indy.
“Founded by Neapolitan immigrant Giorgio Migliaccio in 1990, this no-nonsense shop offers a small but mighty selection of pastas, salads and subs,” wrote the Food Network.
The pizzeria has been in downtown Indy for more than 30 years, according to a social media post by the owner.
What did the Food Network say about Giorgio’s?
The Food Network commended Giorgio’s selection of tasty slices as well as its ambiance, saying “this New York-style pizzeria looks like it has been teleported straight from Brooklyn to Downtown Indy.”
Here’s what else the Food Network said in their review.
“The real draw, though, is the pizza by the slice,” The Food Network writes. “Though (its) selection includes a couple of stuffed options (meat and vegetarian), the most-popular styles are the simple thin-crust New York Neapolitan and the fluffy Sicilian squares.”
