A $4 million steakhouse is in the works in a historical building in downtown San Angelo.
Copper Bull is planned to be at 215 W. Twohig Ave., according to the city of San Angelo’s building permit report for July 2025.
The steakhouse first came before the City Council in August 2023 for the approval to turn the house into a a restaurant and add an event center.
The home was originally built in 1916, according to the report to the City Council in 2023.
“It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places,” the report stated. “The proposed plans would be to update the two-story brick building for a restaurant use and then adding an additional 8,875 sq ft (square feet) for a full-service commercial kitchen, restrooms, and 2,800 square feet of event space.”
The event space would be for weddings, family gatherings and business meetings, the report stated.
“Every reasonable effort shall be made to adapt the property in a manner which requires minimal alteration of the building, structure, object, or site and its environment,” the report stated.
The steakhouse is now in the permit phase. An expected constuction or opening date has not been release.
