New Orleans Saints reportedly sign former Michigan State football lineman to contract

A former Michigan State football star is getting another crack at the NFL, but this time, it is coming on the opposite side of the ball.

Mike Panasiuk was a star defensive lineman for the Spartans from 2016-2019, being the center piece for some very good Michigan State defenses. The Roselle, Illinois native ended up going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.

After going undrafted, Panasiuk attempted to latch on with the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers as a defensive tackle, but nothing ever stuck. Now, the former Spartan has flipped sides of the ball and is getting another crack at the NFL.

Panasiuk was an All-UFL performer in both 2024 and 2025 with the St. Louis Battlehawks as a center, being in the middle of the offensive line instead of the defensive line. This surge in performance on the offensive side of the ball has led to the New Orleans Saints being interested in the former Spartan, reportedly inking him to a deal.
