Teams to pull airplane at I-X Center for Special Olympics Ohio | The Scene

The Humane Society of Summit County Car Raffle: A 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Premium will be raffled. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100 with only 4,000 available. Buy them at the Humane Society shelter at 752 W. Portage Trail, Akron, or Happy Tails Thrift Shop at 1770 Merriman Road, Akron; or go to https://Carraffle25.givesmart.com or call 234-287-2152. Sales will end Sept. 12 or when all tickets are sold. The drawing will be at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Pawsibility Ball at Firestone Country Club. The winner does not need to be present. Lifebanc 2025 Gift of Life Walk & Run: Aug. 10 at Porthouse Theatre, Blossom Music Center, 3143 O’Neil Road, Cuyahoga Falls. The Law Enforcement Torch Run Cleveland Plane Pull: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the I-X Center, 1 I-X Center Drive, Cleveland. The Special Olympics Ohio event challenges teams of up to 15 members to pull a United Airlines 737 plane 12 feet while being timed. Food trucks, a live DJ, games, family fun. The Massillon Woman’s Club “Old-Fashioned Clam Bake”: 5 p.m. Aug. 16 at Massillon Eagles No. 190, 303 Weirich Blvd NW. The dinner menu includes chicken, steak, clams, side dishes, beer, wine and soft drinks. Silent auction, live auction, 50/50 raffle. Not For Sale: One Step At A Time “Celebrating Survivors” Fundraising Dinner: 4-8 p.m. Aug. 24 at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW, Jackson Township. The volunteer-run nonprofit group is working to confront the reality of human trafficking through education, community engagement and awareness. Friends of Akron Children’s Golf Outing: Sept. 7 at Windmill Lakes Golf Club, 544 State Route 14, Ravenna.
