(Correction: The new Aldi grocery stores in Bushnell and Leesburg will open at a future undisclosed date. An earlier version of this story included incorrect dates.)
A new Aldi supermarket will be the first to open in Bushnell, and Leesburg’s newest Aldi will also open soon.
The company has postponed the opening twice after previously announcing dates in August and then September. “I know the shifts in timing for our Bushnell and Leesburg stores have been frustrating and I appreciate you keeping both communities informed,” a spokesperson told the Daily Commercial.
“At this stage, we no longer have a confirmed grand opening date for either store. While we were anticipating welcoming you sooner, construction shifts have led to unexpected delays. With this in mind, we aim to share opening dates roughly two weeks beforehand.”
Leesburg’s Aldi will be at Lake Harris Square, converted from a Winn-Dixie.
The Bushnell store, rebuilt from the Winn-Dixie Marketplace at 1122 N. Main St., will open at the same time on the same day.
Both Aldis will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To celebrate, the first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI-exclusive products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket giveaway program.
Shoppers can enter a sweepstakes for a $500 ALDI gift card through opening weekend.
“Shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer,” said Matt Thon, regional vice president for ALDI, said in a media release.
“Our customers can save up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list. As shoppers look for better ways to stretch their dollar, Aldi is providing Bushnell with easier access to quality groceries at affordable prices.”
Why is Aldi so popular? The company’s reasons include low prices, simplicity, its “Twice as Nice” product quality guarantee, exclusive products, and its online and curbside options. You can visit shop.aldi.us to place an order.
Aldi’s fast and efficient employees have also been a popular facet of the store.
The German-owned company has been named one of “America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes” seven times in the past eight years. To learn more about working at ALDI and search current openings, visit careers.aldi.us.
The stores were scheduled to open in mid-August but were postponed a couple of weeks.
“We look forward to welcoming the community to the new stores and want to be sure they have the latest and most accurate information,” said Matt Thon, Haines City Division Vice President, adding that he will update us if the schedule changes again.
