Florida native Lindsey Langston, the current Miss United States and a Republican state committeewoman, has alleged that Congressman Cory Mills threatened to release intimate images and videos of her after she broke up with him, according to police complaint.
Langston, 25, filed a report with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on July 14 on advice from legal counsel. The complaint was obtained by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, a part USA TODAY Network, on Aug. 6.
Mills, a U.S. Representative of Florida’s 7th District, is a former combat veteran, security contractor and Trump ally. Mills has denied the allegations.
On Aug. 6, he accused Langston’s attorney, Anthony Sabatini, himself a former congressional candidate, of trying to “score political headlines” after losing to Mills in 2022. Sabatini has been critical of Mills’ scandal-filled two-year congressional tenure.
According to the sheriff’s report, Langston started dating Mills in November 2021 and later moved into his New Smyrna Beach residence. She said she broke up with the married congressman in February and moved back in with her parents in Lake City after discovering he had a second girlfriend in Washington, the report said.
That was when the news broke that D.C. police were investigating an assault report involving Mills and the woman, Sarah Raviani. Raviani said that while police may have seen “bruising and marks” on her arms, there was “no physical altercation.” No charges were filed.
The Sheriff’s Office report states that Mills continued to contact Langston for months against her wishes, despite her efforts to block him, and threatened to have her stripped of her Miss United States title and “to release nude images and videos of her,” including videos of herself and Mills having sex.
Langston provided test messages and Instagram messages to Columbia County investigators between herself and Mills, “which consisted of Cory threatening to harm any men Lindsey intended to date in the future,” the report said.
Steven Khachigan, public information officer for the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, said the complaint Langston made was forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for further investigation. FDLE has not yet responded to an inquiry about whether it is an active investigation.
Mills denies claims, charges political attack
Mills has not been charged with any crimes and said in an Aug. 6 statement to The Daytona Beach News-Journal he has not been made aware of any law enforcement complaint.
“Anthony Sabatini is weaponizing the legal system to launch a political attack against the man who beat him in the primary, using his corporate legal office to push a narrative built on lies and flawed legal arguments −all to score political headlines,” Mills said.
“These claims are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions. I have always conducted myself with integrity, both personally and in service to Florida’s 7th District,” Mills said. The Republican has represented southern Volusia and Seminole counties in Congress since 2023.
Mills is currently facing a House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations that he benefited from contracts with the federal government while a congressman. In July, the news broke that Mills’ D.C. landlord was trying to convict him from his nearly $21,000-per-month penthouse for more than $85,000 in unpaid rent. Mills said there was a problem with his online payments and made good his back rent.
