One pundit has two Notre Dame players among his dark horse candidates for the Heisman Trophy.
On3 Sports’ Andy Staples and Bet MGM have Fighting Irish quarterback CJ Carr and running back Jeremiyah Love at +4500 and +4800, respectively, for the trophy.
While Carr has limited experience so far, Love may be better than a dark horse, given some of the praise thrown his way recently.
Others on the list include Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at +4000, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams at +3500, Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons at +4000, Baylor QB Sawyer Robinson at +6600, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza at +5500, and Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker at N/A.
If Carr and/or Love are in serious Heisman conversation late in the season, that would obviously bode well for the Irish.
