As it often happens for every team in the NFL, when players report to training camp, not everyone is in perfect health. When the Bucs veterans reported, following the rookies a day earlier, they got looked at by the team, and it resulted in some players needing to have special designations to start camp.
Some notable names were involved in the designations, including wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. and Tristan Wirfs. Other players include mostly depth pieces, but one is the notable Desmond Watson, who was a UDFA that impressed at times during the rookie minicamp but seemingly continues to struggle with his weight.
The team announced the following moves involving players and their specific designations:
Placed on Active/Non-Football Injury List
Placed on Active/Non-Football Illness List
Placed on Active/Physically Unable to Perform List
The team points out that all these players will continue to count towards the 90-man roster. They can be activated at any time before the finalization of the 53-man roster.
