The Peoria Park District is inviting residents to weigh in on a new playground design for Endres Park.
The district has posted an online survey for community members to provide feedback on three proposed concepts. The survey is open through Aug. 4. Residents can also view their designs in person and share their thoughts with district staff during a public input session at Endres Park, scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
“We want to ensure that the people who consider Endres Park their neighborhood park have a meaningful voice in its future,” said Peoria Park District executive director Emily Cahill.
Each proposed playground option is designed to meet PlayCore’s criteria for inclusive design, ensuring play opportunities for children of all abilities. The $300,000 playground project will replace one built about 25 years ago.
Located at 5100 N. Willard Road in Peoria Heights, Endres Park is a neighborhood green space tucked behind the Grandview Apartments on Knoxville Avenue. It currently includes picnic tables, a shelter and open areas for play and relaxation.
