FOND DU LAC – A Nashotah man convicted of stalking in February will serve a prison term of 29 years, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney said July 2.
Fond du Lac County Judge Andrew Christenson sentenced Zackery J. Olson, 37, to 15 years of initial confinement and 14 years of extended supervision for one count of stalking, 10 counts of violating an injunction, two counts of telephone harassment and three counts of felony bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, Olson has a history of harassing a victim over the phone. He violated restraining orders by continuing to contact the victim through texting and voicemail with fake telephone numbers, as well as on social media and through email, to the point that the victim repeatedly feared for her safety.
“The defendant stalked and terrorized this woman for years and she showed incredible courage in testifying at trial to hold him accountable,” Toney said. “He will now spend the next 15 years in prison and should serve as a warning to anyone that seeks to stalk, harass, or intimidate women.”
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case with assistance from Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Mark Bensen prosecuted.
