Following a week marked by an extreme heat warning, the National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook warning.
Expect precipitation the week of July 4, with thunderstorms and showers possible on July 1 and 3, broken up by a sunny day July 2. Daytime temperatures will hover around the mid-80s, while temperatures will be between the mid-50s and mid-60s.

Hazardous Weather Outlook issued in Binghamton
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Binghamton area between July 1-6.
A cold front moving through the area will bring rain showers and thunderstorms, some of which may include severe damaging winds and heavy rain, leading to flash floods.
Tuesday, July 1
Binghamton residents should expect showers and a possible thunderstorm to start the week, with a 90% chance of precipitation. The day’s temperatures will peak around 84 degrees, with a 7 to 9 mph wind.
Chances of precipitation will drop to 30% overnight, with a chance of thunderstorms before 8 p.m. Expect mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 64 degrees.
Wednesday, July 2
July 2 will bring the week’s first break from precipitation, with sunny skies. Temperatures may reach 83 degrees, though the day will also bring a 3 to 6 mph wind.
The night will be mostly clear, with a low around 62 degrees.
Thursday, July 3
Precipitation chances will increase to 50% on July 3, with a chance of showers throughout the day and thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. The day will otherwise be mostly sunny, with a high near 81 degrees.
The night will bring mostly clear skies, with a low around 56 degrees. There will be a 30% chance of precipitation, a chance of thunderstorms before 8 p.m.
