B/R lists reasons to buy, sell Jets in 2025

The New York Jets are among 10 NFL teams entering the 2025 season with a three-year-or-longer playoff drought. Unfortunately for the East Rutherford-based club, they’re riding the longest postseason drought of all, with their last tournament appearance occurring in 2010. There are teenagers who have never witnessed a Jets postseason team.

Head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey are being trusted to rebuild the organization. Setting the appropriate culture and locker-room expectations is the top priority. Postseason aspirations aren’t necessarily present for the new-look Jets in 2025.

Bleacher Report recently published reasons to buy or sell hope for all 10 teams entering 2025 with a lengthy playoff drought. The Jets’ postseason odds are +475, fourth-worst in the league.

“Why one might buy: The third city could be a charm for uniquely talented new Jets quarterback Justin Fields, who does have a strong young offensive line, a skilled pass-catching corps and considerable defensive support,” Brad Gagnon wrote.

“Why we’re selling: The AFC East and conference are hell, and Fields couldn’t make the cut as a passer in Chicago and Pittsburgh,” Gagnon continued. “I’m not entirely counting the Jets out, but it’s hard to see a path unless Fields shocks the football world.”

Here’s hoping the Jets exceed expectations in 2025.
