Jake Paul will step into the ring this week against an opponent who happens to come from one of boxing’s most famous families.
Paul is set to face Julio César Chávez Jr., the son of legendary Mexican fighter Julio César Chávez, a former multi-division world champion. Chávez Sr. dominated during his prime, compiling a remarkable record of 89-0-1 and defending his title 12 times before losing the WBC junior welterweight belt to Frankie Randall in 1994.
Chávez Jr. captured the WBC middleweight title in 2011 and made three successful defenses before falling to Sergio Martinez in 2012. He has since struggled to return to championship form.
