Moments after the Florida Panthers repeated as Stanley Cup champions, Sam Bennett was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL playoffs MVP before a jubilant Amerant Bank Arena crowd in Sunrise, Florida, on June 17.
The Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers in the series, 4-2, with a 5-1 win in Game 6.
Bennett led all NHL postseason players with 15 goals and was tied for fourth in scoring in the playoffs. He is the first member of the Florida Panthers to win the Conn Smythe.
Last year, Oilers superstar Connor McDavid was awarded the Conn Smythe, despite falling to the Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.
Bennett, who turns 29 on June 20, is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
