VENICE – The theme for the city of Venice’s 2025 Holiday Parade in November will be “All Aboard the Centennial.”
This year’s parade, scheduled for Nov. 29, will kick off the city’s 18-month Centennial Celebration on Nov. 29.
The theme pays homage to all of those who took the train to Venice – from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, who founded the city, to Kentucky Military Institute cadets to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus – as well as dignitaries, farmers, and vacationers.
Parade floats should expand on that theme.
Those interested in participating with a float should visit https://arcg.is/05q0HO or use the related QR code. The application deadline is Nov. 1.
The Venice-Nokomis Woman’s Club, which is also celebrating a centennial, will serve as the parade’s grand marshal.
Dedicated to preserving the past, enjoying the present and planning for the future, the Woman’s Club carries on the legacy of its founders by donating thousands of dollars each year to local charities and nonprofit organizations, by awarding scholarships to Venice High School students and participating in community events.
