Longhorns recruiting target calls Texas his 'Dream' destination

As the Texas Longhorns look to add to their 2027 class, they are showing interest in some of the top prospects available. That includes four-star wide receiver Julian Caldwell. The Texas native is ranked as the 22nd-best player at his position by 247Sports. So far, he has had encouraging things to say about the Longhorns.

Caldwell, who is receiving attention from some of the top programs in the country, called Texas his dream school, according to 247sports recruiting expert Hank South. That is encouraging news for the Longhorns, who want to add more offensive pieces to their 2027 class.

During his high school career, Caldwell has been a human highlight reel while playing for Argyle High School. He finished his sophomore campaign with 21 receptions for 581 receiving yards. He also found the end zone seven times, averaging 27.7 yards per catch. Regardless of who lined up against him on defense, Caldwell was hard to stop.

Entering his junior season, Caldwell has 37 offers. That includes nine from SEC schools, all of whom would love to add Caldwell to their offense. The Longhorns 2027 class only has one commitment, which should change as the recruitment season continues. For Texas, their focus is on turning Caldwell’s dream into a reality.

Caldwell was on campus on the June 1st, but that was just the start of a busy month of travel. He is set to visit SMU, LSU, and Oregon this month. While those are successful programs, the fact that Caldwell called Texas his dream destination gives the Longhorns a good chance of landing him.

A lot can change over the next few months, but the Longhorns should feel good about where they currently stand with Caldwell after his most recent comments.
