Wisconsin football landed a commitment from class of 2026 tight end Jack Janda on Wednesday.
Janda committed to the Badgers on the heels of his May 30 official visit. He chose the program over Michigan State, Stanford and Illinois.
247Sports lists Janda as a three-star recruit. He’s the No. 818 player in the class of 2026, the No. 43 tight end and the No. 12 recruit from his home state of Michigan. The recruiting service lists upcoming official visits to Stanford on June 6, Illinois on June 13 and Michigan State on June 20. Of course, that schedule may change after his pledge to Wisconsin.
Janda is Wisconsin’s 11th commitment in the class of 2026 and fifth since Sunday. He, tight end Jack Sievers, defensive lineman Arthur Scott, linebacker Ben Wenzel and defensive lineman Djidjou Bah pledged after the May 30 official visit weekend. Janda’s addition will help the class finally crack the top 30 of 247Sports’ national rankings.
Wisconsin’s momentum in the 2026 cycle is impossible to deny. Five quick commitments to start June mean the program is already capitalizing on the most important stretch on the recruiting calendar. Numerous recruit visits to campus are still to come.
Importantly, Luke Fickell and his staff have their sights set on the group of blue-chip players who were on campus over the weekend: linebacker McHale Blade, wide receiver Jayden Petit, running back Amari Latimer, offensive tackle Kamari Blair and athlete Jackson Ford. The Badgers do not have a four-star recruit in their class. It’s safe to say that a third consecutive top-25 recruiting class finish is mostly out of the question without a selection of highly ranked prospects as a part of the class.
